The Phoenix Must Burn to Emerge

“The Phoenix must burn to emerge” ~ Janet Fitch

It has been a while since you last heard from me, and a lot has happened since then, so much that I don’t even know where to start. As you may remember, I moved to Moscow- Idaho during 2015, I moved out there to go on a business venture that didn’t work out as planned or expected; so I made my way back home to Miami in January. It has been a very challenging transition that has required me to put into practice all the internal tools and skills I have been cultivating over the last 18 years since I started my journey down the path of personal growth.

This year I decided to do everything very differently than I used to, and one of the results that came about from this period of readjustment was the decision to take a break from teaching public classes. I have seen some of you whenever I have subbed classes at the Standard this year, but I have mostly dedicated to teaching privates and to do some work in real estate (mostly marketing). I have done everything so differently that even my own asana practice has shifted significantly.

Now, I have found a new viewpoint: having redefined failure, loss, and still working to redefine dreams and goals; the one thing I can say now more than ever before, is that I am learning to let myself be taken by life wherever it leads me; with a lot less resistance, and without pushing for what or how I think things should be. I am also realizing that what I have gained from what I thought was total failure, is far greater and far more meaningful than what I thought I was going to get when I embarked on my journey to the west; for things are generally not really what they seem to be.

I am excited to share all of this with you as I come back into the public teaching scene a little bit more within the next few months; I am preparing to teach very special offerings which have come as an inspiration from all this process, so stay tuned to hear more about my upcoming workshop: “Yoga for Emotional Regulation”. In the meantime, I would like to invite you to join me for my upcoming H2OM: Halloween Yoga night at the Standard on Friday, October 28th from 8:00 to 10:00 pm.
